— AHA “Heart Walk” Connects Local Citizens to Essential Health Metrics —
Once again, BioIQ is proud to sponsor the American Heart Association (AHA) during this year’s annual Santa Barbara Heart Walk fundraising event. Join walkers and runners from across Santa Barbara County on September 26 as we step out to have fun, get inspired, and support a meaningful cause: better heart health. Walkers are backed by corporate sponsors, who collectively give hundreds of thousands of dollars to this nonprofit organization each year.
BioIQ will be attending the event to lend its support and educate people about the importance of regular health screening. Our charter echoes the overall goal of the AHA event: to increase the number of people who understand the links between lifestyle and health. Regular biometric screening can determine if you have a heightened risk for stroke, hypertension, or heart disease. Regularly tracking these metrics will give you a gauge as you improve your lifestyle to live a long, healthy life. It is especially important for adults to check their cholesterol levels and triglycerides at least once per year, since these are important indicators of your risk for heart disease.
